Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of signing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in what could be their first major move of the summer. Sources suggest the deal is “very advanced,” with personal terms nearly agreed and the club prepared to meet the £62.5 million release clause in Cunha’s contract.
The Brazilian international has impressed under Vitor Pereira, scoring 17 goals and providing six assists across all competitions this season. His versatility, capable of playing as a striker, winger, or attacking midfielder, makes him a perfect fit for Ruben Amorim’s tactical setup.
Cunha is said to be sold on Amorim’s vision for United, and despite the club’s uncertain Champions League status, he remains keen to join the project at Old Trafford. The move is expected to be finalized early in the transfer window, giving Amorim a dynamic attacking option to kickstart his squad overhaul.
United are also monitoring other forwards, including Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap and Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta, but Cunha appears to be the priority.
